These terms apply to your use of this website, the business case builder and the free business case builder spreadsheet. The website is run by The Lean CPTO (“we”, “us”). By using the website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
1. The business case builder gives estimates, not advice
The business case builder and the spreadsheet produce indicative figures from simple rules and the information you enter. They are a starting point for a conversation, not a quote, a guarantee of results, or financial, legal, tax or other professional advice. Real costs, savings and timeframes depend on your systems, your data, your team and decisions made during a project.
Before you make a spending or investment decision, get advice suited to your situation. The free roadmap and audit is one way to do that, and you can also speak with your own advisers.
2. The free roadmap and audit
The roadmap and audit is free and there is no obligation to buy anything from us afterwards. You can use the roadmap with any provider you choose. What’s included, and when we can deliver it, depends on our availability and the information you give us. We may decline a request, for example if it’s outside what we do.
3. Paid work
Builds, fractional CTO or CPO introductions and other paid services are provided under a separate written proposal or agreement. If there is a conflict between these terms and that agreement, the agreement applies. Fractional CTOs and CPOs from our partner network are independent providers, and their services are governed by their own terms.
4. The spreadsheet download
You may download, use and change the business case builder spreadsheet for your own business, or to work with a client on their business. You may not sell it, publish it as your own, or remove our name or the version number from it. We keep ownership of the spreadsheet and the rules and methods in it.
5. Our content
The content on this website, including text, design, the builder and its rules, belongs to us or our licensors. You may view and share links to it, but you may not copy, reproduce or reuse it for commercial purposes without our written permission.
6. Using the website
Please don’t misuse the website, including by trying to access it without authorisation, interfering with how it works, submitting false or automated enquiries, or entering anyone else’s personal information without their permission.
7. Links to other websites
The website may link to other sites. We’re not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- the website, the builder and the spreadsheet are provided “as is”, and we do not promise they will be error-free, uninterrupted or suited to your particular purpose;
- we are not liable for any loss, including loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website, the builder or the spreadsheet; and
- where our liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the relevant service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If you keep using the website after a change, the updated terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
